Under the slogan "inquiring the Manuscripts Reviving the Cultural Heritage and source for The Academic Research", the Department of Arabic Language in the Faculty of Arts, in cooperation with The General Kashif Al-Getaa Foundation, in Najaf held a scientific symposium on the inquiry and publication of the manuscripts at 10 am on Tuesday, 7 April 2015.

Professor Ahmed Al-Kraiti gave a lecture on the history of manuscripts and the foundations of the inquiry. Followed him Deputy Secretary-General of The General Kashif Al-Getaa Foundation Sheikh Ahmed Kashif Al-Getaa, in which he referred to the importance of inquiring the manuscripts. He pointed out that The General Kashif Al-Getaa Foundation has the lead in collecting, preserving and disseminating this cultural heritage. A scientific project that will contribute to raisie the educational process in Iraqi universities through the inquiry of manuscripts by students of academic primary studies and higher education students.

On the sidelines of the symposium, the Foundation established a workshop for the restoration and maintenance of manuscripts.

The symposium has several objectives, the most important of which are: the importance of manuscripts in the field of scientific research in academic institutions at the level of different sciences, contribute to the extraction of knowledge treasures from the storages to the world of light. As well as urging researchers to make an effort to study the inquiring manuscripts to contribute to the cultural renaissance of the nation.

As well as to confirm the cooperation between academic and cultural institutions in the inquiry and publication of manuscripts.

The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College. Aqeel Al-Khakani and a number of professors as well as a large number of students and researchers.
