The Arab Manuscript Day Festival was launched in Najaf with the participation of The General Kashif Al-Getaa Foundation, organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Science Organization (ALCSO) at the Islamic University of Najaf in collaboration with the Arabic Manuscripts Institute in Cairo. Many  foundations and centers of which the most significant was The General Kashif Al-Getaa Foundation participated in the festival, where the foundation was a pioneer and had a great role in presenting the scientific, cultural and intellectual products of rare historical manuscripts. The organization is seeking to make The Arab Manuscript Day a scientifically tradition, so that the cultural values that are produced by this unique model can contribute to contemporary life

The purpose of the celebration was to consolidate the importance of the written Arab heritage represented in the Arabic manuscripts as a vital part of the contemporary Arab culture.

At the end of the celebration, a certificate of appreciation was presented to The General Kashif Al-Getaa Foundation as a result of its active role in the dissemination of the message of Arab heritage awareness and achievements on the interest in the inquiring, archiving, maintenance, and the restoration of manuscripts.
